Welcome to Colonial Heights Public School's new blog for gifted programs! My name is Joe Douglas, and I am the program coordinator. The purpose of this blog is to provide an additional way for parents and members of the community to stay abreast of opportunities available to identified gifted students. It is my intention to update the page as opportunities arise.
Anthony Washington is a doctoral student at the College of William & Mary who is completing his dissertation on the topic of cultivating creativity in high ability students. As many of you know, his presentation to the Gifted Advisory on this topic was canceled last week due to inclement weather. I am working to reschedule the presentation and will post updated information as soon as it is available.
The next Gifted Advisory meeting will take place at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 1. This meeting will feature a panel of middle school students discussing opportunities available to the gifted at Colonial Heights Middle School. All Gifted Advisory meetings are held in the Audio Visual Room at the Colonial Heights Technical Center.
We hope to see you there!
