William & Mary Summer Enrichment Program

The Summer Enrichment Program in Williamsburg, VA, is now accepting registrations.  The Center for Gifted Education (CFGE) provides unique opportunities for high-ability students to attend Saturday and Summer enrichment courses at The College of William & Mary and at various locations in Richmond. The target audience for spring SEP is students currently enrolled in grades K–11. MSiC Camp Innovation

In addition to offering classes on its Richmond campus, the MSiC will hold classes at John Tyler Community College (Chester and Midlothian campuses) this summer. This might cut down on transportation time and expenses for families, while exposing students to a college campus.

Gifted Advisory Date Change

This is a reminder that the advisory meeting scheduled for Monday, February 23 was changed to Monday, March 2  This meeting will focus on programs for gifted students in grades 3-5. 

Virginia Summer STEAM Academy

The Virginia STEAM Academy is offering an exciting opportunity to middle school students this summer.  Summer STEAM is a free, one-week, residential academy intended to inspire and expose rising 6th-8th grade students drawn from across the Commonwealth of Virginia to STEAM content, applied learning, and leadership developing opportunities.  Applications are due March 24.  Detailed information about the program is available at:

Seminar for Educators and Parents of the Gifted

Region III and the Virginia Association for the Gifted (VAG) present Partnering for Gifted Education.  This is a mini seminar for educators and parents.  The seminar will take place on Saturday, March 21 from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at Essex High School (833 High School Circle, Tappahannock, VA 22560).  The cost is $25 for VAG members and $30 for non-members.  Light refreshments will be available for purchase.
