Gifted Advisory Meeting

The next Gifted Advisory meeting will take place on May 21.  This meeting will feature the Elementary Focus Night.  In addition to giving an overview of gifted services throughout the division, the elementary resource teachers will provide important information about gifted students and their education.  What is more, students in attendance will have an opportunity to participate in a STEM challenge.  It will be a great GAC meeting that you do not want to miss!  All meetings take place at 6:00 pm in the Technical Center AV Room.

Gifted Advisory Meeting

Happy New Year and welcome back to school.  I every one of you had a great holiday season with your family and friends.  The next Gifted Advisory meeting will take place on Wednesday, January 30.  This will be the Middle School Focus Night.  The Middle School resource teachers have planned a special evening where attendees will be able to rotate through a variety of student presentations.  The purpose of the event is for younger students to speak with current middle school students about their experience in the gifted program.  Please note that his event will take place in the High School Media Center at 6:00 p.m. 

Let's Innovate Student Conference at the MSiC, 6-8

The Math Science Innovation Center will hold its 6-8 Let's Innovate Conference this January.  Math, science, and art come together in this creative conference to find innovative ways to understand and describe the world around us. Discover how to express and explain nature through different media, including archaeology, fractal patterns, music, paper making, plant pigments, and much more!  All participants will create an origami microscope called a Foldscope® to visualize the microscopic world!

Welcome to the 2018-19 school year.  I look forward to another exciting year doing great things for kids.  As many of you know, the Gifted Advisory Committee changed its meeting time last year.  All meetings will now take place at 6:00 pm in the Colonial Heights Technical Center.  Please see the 2018-19 dates below.

Happy New Year! The next Gifted Advisory meeting will take place on Tuesday, January 30.  This will be the High School Focus Night.  All meetings start at 7:00 pm and take place in the AV Room located in the Technical Center.
